The following includes a copy of a letter written by readers of Heavenletters and emailed to President Bush following the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. This letter included God's words excerpted from current issues of Heavenletters concerning 9/11 in which God gives His perspective on the situation and adjures us to rise higher in our vision and thoughts in order to bring peace to the world.
The letter to the President was a joint effort among several Heaven readers. Gloria Wendroff initially suggested it and advised on how to word the letter. Bev from Iowa selected the Heavenletter excerpts to include in the email. Annette and Hans of California signed the email and sent it.
I just e-mailed President Bush at www.emailthepresident.com. So far so good. We'll see if it goes through. There was a box you could check to request a copy to be sent back to your e-mail address. This will show if it's been received. Takes up to 24 hours, it says.
I hope that other Heaven subscribers will also e-mail President Bush. They can use the same letter, and it's okay if the Heaven quotation is the same. The more they hear it, the better. You can also e-mail the President at president@whitehouse.gov.
Please give my deepest thanks to Bev for getting the message down to the right size. And thank you, Gloria, for facilitating the whole process. The messages are really from all of us — you, Bev, Hans, and me.

Subject: The Recent Terrorist Attacks
Dear Mr. President:
We deeply appreciate the great responsibility that you bear as leader of our nation, especially during these difficult times.
We know you are a man of a loving heart, and we wish to share with you a very important message concerning the recent terrorist attacks and its aftermath.
Whether or not you agree with what is being said, whether or not you believe the message is coming from a Higher Source, we are just passing it on. The message is what matters.
Thank you for your attention, and God bless you in all the decisions that are yours to make.
God said:
My dear children, please put your attention on the Oneness of Human beings. Do not pit yourself against another. Do not separate your heart from another's.
I know you feel the weight of tragedy. I know the heartache this wreaks for you. Cry out if you must. Cry for the injured, and cry for the injurer, for he has wasted his heart on exacting something that only can be given.
Turn your hearts to good. Return to love of your fellow man. Do not give up on the human race. Ask your heart what you can do to reveal the magnificence of the world to itself.
Send your high thoughts of vision to those deliberate hurters of mankind, those who assailed and those who drew the assault. Desire with love that all open their eyes wider.
Be an enricher of hearts. The hearts of those who struck at you are staggering in their pain. Mistakenly they thought you had inflicted their pain. They thought they were being fair in exacting pain from you.
Now you will rise above their pain. You will not equal it and say they caused you it.
Do not pass on man's anger. Pass on My thought.
Do not think you are powerless to change the course of events. You are the makers of history, so remake it. Remake it now.
Sew the seams together rather than bewailing the split.
Your mind can never understand man's inhumanity to man. It is not understandable. What man of strength would subject another to war?
When people no longer want to feel victorious, they will generate peace.
I do not recommend wars. I recommend finding other ways. There are better bargains to make than war. There is something smarter than war. It is not necessary to fight a war in order to gain wisdom.
Be a giver of love in the silent recesses of your heart. Expand your heart so it reaches the nethermost corner of hearts that ache. That is My prayer, that hearts will melt into one another's, and peace reign on earth.
