#599, Nothing but Light — the letter's content just seems too good to be true. This is reality. Life is difficult. I don't feel "God loves, you're wonderful, people are righteous" answers to the real problems of survival. How about someone grows up with alcoholic parents who sexually abuse him and then after all that, his child commits suicide and he gets a life-threatening illness? What does God say now? How does one deal with past wounds etc?
What profit is there for one who has suffered to continue his suffering or compound it? Okay, in terms of the world, they've been egregiously wronged. Okay, they've been deeply aggrieved. All would say they are bad off, but do they want to stay there or get out?
From great dung heaps, greatness has come.
A child of Mine can have alcoholic parents who misuse him, and he can find himself with a life-threatening illness and see his own child kill himself, and he can rise above. Even on Earth, he can. Even in his daily life, he can. Even from his deathbed, he can. You have seen this. You have seen dying patients who light others' hearts. You have seen this.
Everyone deals with his own life, long or short, downtrodden or uplifted. You deal with the cards you get.
In this sense, everyone starts even.
Anyone can pull the world up. His suffering is no excuse for pulling the world down. The world is downed enough. Something can be done.
I speak again and again of My children changing their thinking. The world must adopt My thinking or it will stay morassed in the past. World thinking keeps My children in the past. It is necessary for all to see beyond world affairs and circumstances in individual life, or they will be forever bogged in it.
Suffering is not admirable nor worthy. If no one wants it, why do many keep their thoughts there?
Because one has been cruelly treated, must he condemn himself to it from then on? Must you, as a friend to man, condemn him to his fate also? Does great sympathy and commiseration help him get up and walk? Use your eyes for seeing, not weeping. Your vision of another affects him. See beyond what everyone sees. Make your vision great.
Do not commiserate. Others follow you. You are a man of action. You do not stew in your own juice, nor would you encourage others to do so. You are an inspirer, not a confirmer of the world reality that needs no confirmation.
Whatever life deals, the choice is to get up from it and move on. Is that not practical? The misery you see around you is not reality. That very thinking is what keeps My children bound to Earth. Earth reality is not the only one. I don't need to explain Earth reality to you. It has been promoted and accepted without My help. Step over it.
Accept the possibility that I am here, on bended knee, wanting to help all of mankind. Give up your resistance to what I say. Start from the premise that what I say is true. Where do you go from there?
Ask Me all your questions. I am here.
God, how does one make the above happen? Any insights or clues? What if people don't want to get up off their miserable ass and change? What does one do for them? I know what I do, but is it enough?
It is not up to you what other people do. You do not make it happen.
If someone enjoys their suffering, that is their choice. It isn't yours to make.
Give your beautiful heart as you do. You do just right. Only leave others to Me. The responsibility for what others learn or do is not yours. It is Mine and theirs. Just be your effluent heart and cast love right and left. Build their hearts, for that is from where change comes. Build their hearts with yours.
Appreciate. Have faith. See these sufferers as already healed. That will do much for them. And for you. You are not a teacher of what is. You are a teacher of what can be.
