Dear God, as the New Year approaches, many people write down their New Year's resolutions. What do You advise?

Since you ask Me, I would think of it more as setting your sights than resolve. Resolve contains an element of mastery or control. Setting your sights makes it easier and more true, more livable. Not a resolve and not a wish list, but an idea of what direction you want to go in. Ask yourself, how broad will your vision be?

I do not see this list as outcomes. Don't say, "I will have greater income." Say, "I am open to greater income."

Don't say, "I will be more unselfish." Say, "I am open to seeing my world in a greater perspective."

Don't say, "I will create more harmony in my home." Say, "I am open to greater harmony in my home. I look to see greater harmony. I keep an eye out for God in my life."

Say, "I look to open my heart. I find opportunities to be kind. I look to see things differently."

The writing down is important. It makes you look at what you are saying. Your thoughts don't go so much into the ether. They stay around. They are located somewhere. You held them in your hand.

Whatever you write down, you are looking at yourself.

Whatever you do, you are looking at yourself.

It is good to find out where you are looking, for where you look is where you will go. Your eyes lead and you follow them.

Set your sights high. Yes. As high as Heaven.

Writing down our visions for the coming year helps us look at ourselves in a positive way and set the course for the Millenium?

Yes.

When we Godwrite, we are also setting a course for ourselves?

You could say that writing your New Year visions is like jotting down where you will take a trip during the year, whereas Godwriting is more like climbing the rungs of the actual ladder that take you where you want to go.

In life you do climb a golden ladder to Heaven. You climb the golden links that have been put there for you.

Sometimes there is great hesitation between moving a foot up the rung, so dear becomes the rung your foot is on.

But you are always ahead of your feet.

When you move a foot up, you merely come up closer to where you already are.

You are where your eyes are.

Your heart directs your eyes.

And I direct your heart.

Dear God, it has been a while since we have heard from Mother Divine. I would not want to say goodbye to 1999 without her.

It so happens I am always here.

You want blessings for the New Year.

That is all you have, my dears. Blessings. All God's blessings are yours. He keeps passing them out. I push them along.

And sometimes you pass them by. And sometimes you pick them up.

I suggest you collect His blessings.

His blessings are Heavenletters, written or unwritten.

There is a ticker-tape parade of Heavenletters.

God's blessings fall like snow from above.

They land on your nose and melt there.

The continuum of life that you call a year rolls out like a red carpet for you.

Fresh new red carpet.

No foot has touched it.

And now you put yours down and walk on it.

Walk well.

Strew joy.

Dance on this carpet.

Do somersaults on it.

Why not?

Don't turn around.

Don't look back.

Don't linger.

Begin your dance. 1, 2, 3. 1, 2, 3.

Join hands.

Connect yourself.

Hallelujah.

Don't sit on the sidelines.

Get up front.

Sing a song.

Sing God's song.

Sing for Him.

Play on this carpet of new days.

Does beloved Christ wish to speak?

I speak in your heart. I echo what God says. I am a repeater of His words and love.

If you could know the tiniest fraction of His love, you would leap for joy! You would dance high! You would melt in the love of His love. You would consciously become it, His love. You would merge with it, and know that was who you were all along.

But don't we know a fraction of His love?

You are aware of a smidgeon of it, an immeasurable tininess of it, like a grease spot of His love. You cannot even imagine the totality of His love, how much He loves you each, and how you love Him back. So much is unknown to you. Open your heart wider, and you will swim in God's love for you. Open your eyes wider, and you will know your own, for love loves love and knows only itself.

I am a beep of God's love in your heart.

I am like His finger that beckons. His envelope, unsealed.

Whatever I am, are you also.

Wherever you find God, are you there also.

You and God are very tight.

Unpartable.

One goes nowhere without the other.

And that is the truth.

You are not twain but One, as are you one with me and one another.

All blessings on my brothers and sisters.

I bestow all of my faith on you where it belongs. My Christ light glows in you.

I wash your feet with my gratitude for our shared faith in our Heavenly Father.

Intention is energy. It is a certain kind of energy, powerful and unwasted.

Intention is like the lowering of a raft boat into the sea. Intention is like a paintbrush dipped into a certain color. Intention is like an upside-down funnel filled from the pointed end and poured out from the wide. Intention is like an arrow that becomes many arrows spread out. Intention is the opening of a door that opens, not into another room, but onto a vista. Intention is an airplane ticket valid for an around-the-world tour. Intention starts you from where you think you are and takes you where you want to go. Intention is the instrument by which a pilot sets his course. The course is set, and that is where the plane will go, and the pilot sits back.

Set your intention, and release your hold. I will take over. Set your intention, and let life unfold. Otherwise, you stab at life. Otherwise, you are like someone who gashes open a locked suitcase with stabs of a knife, when all the while the key was in the lock and a touch of the clasp would open the suitcase and reveal its treasure. You do not have to wrench life open. Let the intention of your heart open it for you.

Life is not lived by will. You do not will more joy. Will has a certain force to it, and force is control. Control keeps fulfillment away; it does not bring it. Consider the difference between the energy of insistence and the energy of intention. Which goes further? Which lasts? Which takes you where you want to go?

Attract what you want your life to be. Draw it to you with your intention.

Consider yourself a fisherman. First know which kind of fish you want to catch, and then you cast your line into the lake where the fish swim. Cast your intention into the lake that holds your deepest desires.

Maybe you just fish where you happen to be. Then intend to catch what you desire.

Intention is not a plan. It is an intent. It is a leaning in the direction. Intent is your eyes seeing into the distance, and then you simply follow the path of your eyes.

Or consider that you are at a train station. What is the name of the train you want to go on? There are many local trains around, and you can hop on them again and again. But perhaps there is a train that goes a further distance. It will also take you where the local does but it will surpass the local and take you beyond where you have thought you were.

What is your will? What is the meaning of your will? Your will may be a little peevish. Certainly next to Mine it is. Your will is many little hops. My Will is the express train that will take you where you want to go. Intend to catch the God's Will Express, for that is how you discover the magnificence of your own being.

This is what I mean by your having asked for too little. You want this and that and not that and this, but you see too little. You haven't seen far enough. You have missed some wonders to choose from.

Catch My vision. I give it to you. When you have trust in yourself, you will have faith in Me. By your faith in Me, you accept My vision as your own.

Your will is fishing in a small pond.

My Will covers the oceans.

Come beside Me, and cast your line into the depths of the ocean where treasure is to be found.

This roll of the wheel that you call a New Year is a reminder of the newness of you. The newness of you is your eternity. All the outer revolutions of your spinning in eternity is a masquerade, a tour de force, an excursion from the infinite reality of you. Perhaps all that you surround yourself with is escape from the essence of you. You have had fear of returning to yourself, and so you have made a hunt out of it.

You seek yourself. You seek to make acquaintance with yourself, you whom you have been trying to evade. You have let yourself stay a few feet away from your recognition.

Revolve then, and you will become a circle around the world. Lay yourself across the girth of the earth. You will encase it. The tips of your fingers will touch the tips of yours toes, and so you encompass the universe. And so the universe exists within you.

You are far more than the New Year. Make celebration of the New Year a celebration of you. Look into your own eyes in another's, and make a toast to the ever-newness of life that spreads before you, infinitely opening up, revealing itself before you.

I laid out the universe like a blanket for you to sit on. I provided picnic-fare. And I invited you to sit down with Me for life. You sit with no one else. This is the reality. All attend Our picnic, but there is only you and I, you and I, you and I. I serve you, and you serve Me, and We are One, the server and the served. In between Us is a only a moment of serving.

But no servitude.

The New Year is a proclamation of freedom.

Raise your glass for the fun of it to the joy of Us.

And do this every day.

Every day is the New Year, and every day is a celebration of freedom.

You can make this day what you will.

Even if your feet are nailed to the ground, you can rise above where you are situated.

Do not let anything limit you.

Not the past, not the present, for the present contains an enormous vacuum for you to fill. A vacuum is not a gulf. Today connects you to yourself. Leap into today. Pluck today. Give yourself a gift of today.

Resolutions are a putting off, and now you put off nothing. Resolutions say you have to command yourself. No, all you have to do is to allow yourself. You do not have to write yourself in. Resolutions are like dragging your past into the present. They say that you have not been something, but now you will be, as if effort brings you to yourself.

If you must resolve something, resolve to be you. Resolve to be open to your greatness. You do not have to impose it upon yourself. You do not have to get it from somewhere. You do not have to muster it. You just have to accept it, the wondrousness of you, the wonderment of you.

Any resolve you make to do this or that is another discouragement of yourself. You do not have to prove anything to yourself. You do not have to prove improvement. There is nothing to improve but your image of yourself. Approve.

Let your concept of yourself come first, and all else will follow. Look not so much to improve yourself as to encourage yourself.

Notice your goodness. Write that down. Wave the light of your love around yourself. Let yourself be seen in your light. Roll yourself in My light, and you will revolve the universe at a higher frequency.
